R.E & Worldviews

At Woolenwick schools, our Religious Education curriculum aim to develop pupils' understanding of a broad range of religions and worldviews, building secure knowledge of beliefs, practices, values and ways of living in modern Britain and beyond. Pupils explore key religious concepts, recognising similarities and differences between traditions while developing respect, curiosity and informed judgement. They are encouraged to reflect on their own worldview and consider questions of meaning, purpose and identity.

Pupils learn about core concepts including belief, authority, community, symbolism and belonging, exploring how religions and non-religious worldviews influence daily life. Through observation, interpretation and comparison of texts, artefacts, festivals and practices, they develop enquiry, vocabulary and critical thinking skills. 

Learning progresses from recognising key stories, symbols and celebrations to explaining beliefs, comparing traditions and making informed connections. The curriculum is inclusive and accessible, valuing diverse backgrounds and supporting all learners through carefully sequenced teaching, rich experiences and appropriate adaptations, enabling every pupil to develop lasting knowledge and engage thoughtfully with different worldviews.
